RIDER FACTS
- Paolo Lucci comes from Castiglione Fiorentino, the same town as the late Dakar legend Fabrizio Meoni, and started rally-raid in 2012 after a background in motocross and enduro.
- He made his Dakar debut in 2022 but retired on stage 8 due to an engine failure. In 2023, he finished second in the Rally 2 category with BAS World KTM Racing and second overall in the W2RC, 17 points behind the winner Romain Dumontier.
- During Dakar 2024, he had to retire in the second week following a crash.
- For Dakar 2025, Lucci struggled to find a budget, but found a new opportunity with Honda and he is aiming of achieving strong results in the Rally 2 category.
2025 AMBITION
P.L: “My last Dakar didn’t go so well. For one week, it was good, but at the beginning of the second, I crashed, and I retired from the race. This year I struggled so much to find a good budget and everything. But at the end I found a new opportunity with Honda, I will race with a new bike in Rally 2 with the assistance from RS Moto. So, I’m happy and now it’s all here that I’m training, especially the last two months. So, nothing, I hope to enjoy this Dakar and to do good results.”
