- A seasoned traveler with experiences in China, Namibia, the USA and Dubai (among others), Francesco Pece discovered Saudi Arabia in January 2025 as he joined his brothers Giacomo and Umberto Clerici in the Dakar society.
- The vintage experience aboard a Nissan Terrano was a success for the young manager specialised in sales and marketing for high-tech customized machinery: after a strong start, he survived mechanical issues to make it through the desert all the way to the finish (23rd) of the Dakar Classic.
- In 2026, Pece jumps back aboard the same Nissan Terrano but changes partner - after Monica Buonamano, now navigating a truck with Rachele Somaschini and Serena Rodella, he will make the most of Simona Morosi’s experience in the Dakar Classic.

- Simona Morosi’s focus and dedication make wonders in many environments, from Roma, where she works in the health sector, to deserts around the world, where she delivers acute navigating performances.
- Now facing her fifth participation in the Dakar Classic, Morosi knows very well the traps of the Saudi desert but she changes teams this year as she joins the Tecnosport environment to share her experience.
- Francesco Pece will be the fourth driver to be guided by Morosi in the Dakar Classic after Antonio Ricciari -with whom she obtained her best result (8th) in 2025-, Andrea Alfano and Stefano Sinibaldi.

F.P.: “My approach for the 2026 Dakar Classic is different in the sense that I would like to do better. Last year, it went really well, it was almost strange. It was my first participation around the Top 5 after five days. Then we had a technical problem with the car and we lost practically an entire day. I realize that I'm lucky to have finished it, given that many cars don't even manage to reach the end. It was a privilege, a massive emotion. But on the other hand, I would also like to do better. I don't want to set myself any goals but I definitely want to improve on last year's position.
This year there will be a new co-driver, a new navigator, so it will be important to have a proactive and fair spirit with Simona too, because I got on very well with Monica [Buonamano] last year, but unfortunately she couldn't do it. I'm sure the relationship will be fine, but it's definitely something that will be tested there.
In the end, it was more or less what I expected, also because my brothers had already done it and so they had prepared me a little. I had also spoken to the team before I got there, and they had prepared me too. There are definitely very early mornings, waking up at dawn and returning late at night, you sleep little, in uncomfortable situations, it's definitely tiring. But the race itself, I have no problem spending many hours in the car, I enjoy it. It passes quickly, I could even do it for several days non-stop.”
S.M.: “I am preparing to tackle my fifth Dakar with the same passion as the others, certainly more excited as I will face the Saudi Arabian desert with a new team and driver. I am sure that Francesco and I will have fun and, as a crew, we will be able to tackle our Dakar day after day, kilometre after kilometre, stage after stage. Like the others, it will be an unforgettable experience and adventure.”
