Captain Saleh aiming bigger

There’s no stopping Saleh Al Saif. These last few years, he’s become one of the revelations of the Saudi motorsports scene. It all started at the 2020 Dakar where he reached the finish of his maiden Dakar at a fine 12th spot of the SSV class. A boost in his career that then took him to successes on home soil at his very own Baja Ha’il. A few weeks later the 44-year-old known as “Captain Saleh” became the first Saudi since Yazeed Al Rajhi to claim a stage of the Dakar. Behind the steering wheel of his Can-Am T4, the driver from Ha’il lived his moment of glory on the finish line in Wadi Ad Dawasir. Despite failing to finish the rally last year, Al Saif can feel extremely confident after finishing second of the FIA Baja World Cup in his class and conquering successes in Sharkiya, Jordan and Italy. For his third Dakar, Al Saif will again have Spaniard Oriol Vidal at his side. After a long career riding quads, the young navigator will be living his fourth Dakar on the left seat of an SSV.
