Combining work with passion is never easy, especially if this passion requires a lot of efforts and energy, but Gianpaolo Bedin made it. Businessman in the Automotive Industry, he designed his racing car from scratch and built his buggy in his workshop in Turin. Proud of this prototype, Gianpaolo Bedin tackles the Dakar for the 4th time, motivated to finish the rally. Being at the start of the toughest rally in the world with a buggy completed realized in his workshop back in 2014, was a dream comes true. After three attempts, this year he would like to accomplish the mission to cross the finish line. To do this, he will count also on the experience of Guido Toni. Founder of GT Off-Road back in 1989, Guido has collaborated with drivers such as Markku Alen, Edi Orioli, Hubert Auriol, Salvador Servia, Carlo De Gavardo, Albert Llovera, taking part to 18 Dakars in different positions (Team Manager/Driver/Co-driver) and several International Rally such as Pharaons Rally (8 edtions), Dubai, Silk Way Rally (Moscow/Beijin), Baja Spain, Baja Portugal Baja Italia, and winning serveral Italian Championhips.
“When I think at the Dakar, the first image I have in mind are the dunes of Peru. I really look forward to be part of this incredible marathon. Everything is special: the atmosphere at the bivouac, the countries we pass by, the people. I have dedicated all my free time to my passion for rally raid. I have built a car from scratch, developed it over the years and my target is to accomplish this mission. I enjoyed every moment and the spirit is to enjoy the rally, to have fun and to finish in Lima”.
