The second marathon stage of the Dakar Rally is indeed a test of endurance, both physical, mental, and mechanical. On this first day, the tracks will sometimes be rocky and treacherous, requiring both speed and composure during the numerous changes of pace. At the end of the special stage, a beautiful dune crossing will offer a foretaste of what’s to come. And as in the first week, this marathon session will take place on separate courses for the FIM and FIA categories, and the bivouacs/shelters will once again be minimalist.
