Edgar Canet won the first two specials of the rally, only to lose three hours in the second part of the marathon-refuge stage and receive a six-hour penalty for swapping his wheel before reaching the bivouac. Today he continued blasting his way up the RallyGP learning curve. Second on the day, the 20-year-old KTM rider came up 4'47" short of victory, which went to his teammate Luciano Benavides.
"I got lost after 15 or 20 km and thought to myself, 'Nooo, what a start to the second week'. Then I caught a really good rhythm and gave it my 100%. I came second in the stage, the victory is for Luciano, so super happy for that. We're out of the overall but still fighting for stages."
