The son of the legendary Johnny Campbell, a giant of Bajas US who coaches Ricky Brabec, is in control of the Rally2 standings. Honda has Tosha Schareina and the 26-year-old American at the top of the two motorbike divisions.

"I spotted a few rivals working on their bikes out there, so I realised I could just push and go as fast as I could, as long as I didn't crash, to make the different. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to be the Rally2 leader, I had no overall ambitions because I didn't know where I was going to end up. I didn't crash and my rear tyre looks fine, so I hope to reach the bivouac tomorrow."
