January 8 th 2026 - 15:46 [GMT + 3]

Daniel Sanders finished third today, 5’50’’ behind the winner. The way he managed the stage allowed him to regain the lead in the overall rankings by 2’02’’ in front of Ricky Brabec and 5’55’’ ahead of Luciano Benavides on the other KTM, who, in front of ‘Chucky’, will be responsible for opening the first dune stage of the 48th edition.

Interview : DANIEL SANDERS

“It was a different marathon stage, that’s for sure. We actually had to manage the bike and the tyres a bit. At the first refuelling yesterday, I had already lost a lot of time and I looked at the tyres and knew it was going to be a problem, so we had to try and manage it today. Last night, it was ok but at the first refuelling today the crack was getting bigger. It was really important to not destroy the tyres […], so I just took it easy in the middle part and just got through to the end, really. So, I’m just happy to not lose too much time and manage the situation because it could have ended the race today”.
