“I can’t believe my Dakar dream is about to come true”
Paolo Bedeschi made a comparatively late entry into the world of rallying, in 2019, but it was love at first slide for the retired mechanical engineer who is aiming for a top ten finish in this year’s Classic Auto class. Bedeschi’s co-driver will be fellow Dakar rookie Daniele Bottallo, who recently celebrated victory in the 2022 Panda Raid Baja 800 and gained more desert experience with 11th in Morocco.
P.B.: “Our main goal is to reach the finish, preferably in the top 10. My passion is the mechanical side, so if there is a problem I will solve it! I trust Daniele a lot, our testing in Tunisia went very well and we will each do our jobs as part of the team.”
D.B.: “As navigator, I believe my biggest challenge will be mastering the special equipment used for the Dakar. I’m not yet familiar with it all, but I am very focused and will make sure I get it right. I can’t believe my Dakar dream is about to come true!”
