A spectator zone in each stage
- Navigation is paramount in the Dakar. It is crucial to keep the course under wraps so that all competitors start on even footing. The rally organisers have therefore developed a new road book distribution system under which the courses are only revealed at the last possible time.
- However, the Dakar is also a celebration for the spectators who turn out every day to cheer on the competitors and see them in action. One dedicated area for spectators will be announced and secured for each stage in order to accommodate fans under the best possible conditions.
- No spectator zones for stage 5 and 6.
