Eugenio Amos loves racing and iconic cars. His career as a driver started in circuits where he competed in the GT endurance Series, driving a BMW Z4 for several years. In 2015 he decided to switch to rally-raids looking for new motivations. He had never competed before in this discipline, but Eugenio has the Dakar in his genes. His father indeed competed in the race back in the 80s, in a truck. Eugenio made his debut on the Dakar 2016, finishing the rally. This year he is back on a Buggy 2WD prepared by Two Wheels Drive. At his side, a very experienced co-driver Sebastien Delaunay. Husband of Margherita Missoni, heiress of the Missoni fashion brand, Eugenio is not involved in fashion. Famous businessman, he has several companies and recently he founded Garage Amos, where he restores and customizes the iconic Lancia Delta Integrale.
“After many years competing in the GT, I was looking for new motivations and also for the friendly and crazy atmosphere of the Dakar bivouac. The debut in 2016 was a true life experience. I learned the protocol of the race, how it works, but it was too tough on a Side by Side, as you arrive on the bivouac always very late. This year I’m really happy to return on a very competitive machine, the Buggy 2WD. With Delaunay as co-driver, we raced in 2017 the Silk Way, where I won my first stage of an international rally and I finished 16th overall in the Morocco Rally. Useless to say, that the Dakar is the reference so I look forward to the start to see the progress we made throughout the year. Finally we have a competitive machine and Delaunay has also helped me in making another important step forward as he is really good in navigation. Together we found a very good rhythm and we aim at a very good result. We tackle the Dakar ready to fight with the top teams like Peugeot, X-Raid and Toyota”.
