Time to hit back for Captain Saleh

It’s time to hit back for Saleh Al Saif. After an impressive debut back in 2020 when he captured 12th position overall and clinching a first stage win a year later, the Saudi driver has failed to finish his last two Dakar rallies. Joint third of the last FIA Baja World Cup in the T3 category, the 45-year-old known as “Captain Saleh” certainly has the speed but seems to be lacking in consistency. This year, he claimed victory at the neighbouring Baja Jordan and has been preparing in the dunes around his city of Ha’Il where the rally will stay for two big loops. First Saudi since Yazeed Al Rajhi to claim a stage of the Dakar, he now aims at the overall behind the steering wheel of his Can-Am X3.
