The romp to Wadi ad-Dawasir is a serious contender for the most scenic route of the fortnight. Little gems can be found here and there in Saudi Arabia, sometimes in the shape of super-sized canyons, as we will see in this push towards the east. The small dunes near the finish will do little to reduce the lightning-fast average speed. When the top riders and drivers are just a few dozen seconds apart, the temptation to throw caution to the wind is never far away… but “all or nothing” is a risky gamble.
