46% of the route out of the way

By the rest day, the crews had already covered 46% of the route to Yanbu, a total of 3,734 km. Of that distance, 2,297 km had been clocked in specials, amounting to 48% of the total. The exact midpoint of the 48th Dakar will come 144 km into today's special. These figures apply to the FIA race and are slightly lower than those for the FIM event, owing to split...
