Guillaume de Mevius: “We knew it was going to be tough and it was tough”

After his victory on stage 1, Guillaume De Mevius is back on the podium between Alula and Yanbu. Second today behind Guerlain Chicherit, the Belgian took advantage of the misfortunes suffered by Sébastien Loeb and Lucas Moraes to move up from fourth to second place overall. A long way behind Carlos Sainz, he will have to work hard tomorrow to resist the comeback of Sébastien Loeb, whom he leads by just 7 minutes.  

“It was a really, really tough stage, for sure, like David said yesterday. We knew it was going to be tough and it was tough. We got a puncture just before the end, 30 km form the end, because we were in the dust of another car. But in the end, it was all good. I’m happy to be here with only one day left. Now, we have to keep our position, I think I’m fifteen minutes in front of Guerlain now, so for tomorrow it should be ok. We will see what is going on at the front, I don’t know yet, but we will see”.
