Krysztof Hołowczyc: "I adjusted my driving style"

The first driver to cross the finish line in Al Henakiyah after wrapping up the prologue in the top 10, Krysztof Hołowczyc, was finally ranked fourteenth in stage 1 of the 2024 Dakar. The Pole finished less than 20 seconds behind the winner, but he can count his blessings that he did not suffer punctures…

"We had to overtake more than fifty motorcycles... It was very difficult for them, the riders crashed while trying to dodged the stones. I adjusted my driving style by sticking to the outside of the track to avoid those who were struggling. It was a stage where it was difficult to find your pace. We had to go slowly on the stones to avoid punctures and accelerate whenever we could."
