- Brigitte Reitbauer grew up in the countryside, where people need all kinds of vehicles in daily life. That environment led her to obtain her truck driving license and to approach truck driving with great enthusiasm. At an off-road fair in 1993, she discovered off-road trucks and was immediately recruited by the exhibitor to join his team.
- After her first deployments in the Truck Trial European Championship, she joined the 1994 Paris-Dakar Rally just six months later to drove a truck for the organization, transporting boxes for the motorcycle riders (malle-moto). An experience during which she fell deeply in love with the desert.
- Two years later, she moved to the passenger seat, obtained her navigator’s license, and went on to work as a navigator in numerous rallies. Although it was never her main profession, she competed in more than 35 rallies and also did some assistance work, across Egypt, Tunisia, Poland, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, Mongolia, Spain, Morocco, or Italy. She demonstrated remarkable versatility on a wide range of vehicles, including the Land Rover Defender, Mitsubishi Pajero EVO, Mercedes G, MAN KAT 6×6, or Tatra Renn-LKW.
- Cars are more than a hobby to Brigitte: she works in Offroad-Partner, a company that sells equipment, offers workshop services and shares information about rallies. She will take part in her first Dakar Classic in Saudi Arabia, and you can be sure she will quickly feel at ease, as if she were right at home in the desert.

B.R.: “I drove a truck for the organization in the 1994 Paris-Dakar Rally, and the experience was so intense that it never let me go. The desert... These landscapes simply captivate me. I am a totally enthusiastic and completely infected desert fan. That’s why I am eagerly looking forward to race in Saudi Arabia. The Dakar Rally images from there have utterly impressed me in recent years. We are happy to be part of a team that has repeatedly competed in the race. That provides safety and makes our preparation easier. And it surely makes it more fun as well. For both of us, to participate in the Dakar Classic class is something completely new. We want to get to know and practice it calmly at first. Our vehicle is a true classic that needs careful handling. Therefore, our goal this year is simply to finish the rally!”
