“Every day felt like a summit day, so I trained better”

معلومات عن الطاقم

  • Dennis discovered motorbikes at the age of six, when he saw a Yamaha 50 in a store. The little boy insisted to his parents, until he had the bike! He continued with motocross, without being able to practice a lot for financial reasons.
  • A former soldier, the German approaches his sporting adventures with rigor and method. No room for improvisation: he does it once he is well trained, prepared and formed. A pattern that allowed him to climb to the roof of the world, Everest, in 2018! One of his two childhood dreams with the Dakar.
  • He participated for the first time in 2025 but had to retire. After crashing in the dunes during the second week, Dennis decided to do a lot of dunes training in Dubai, Morocco or Namibia. As a result, he did his best Rallye du Maroc so far in October. He enters the 2026 edition better prepared, this time with Joyride Race Service, a team in which Armand Monleon is involved.
  • Dennis restores vintage cars as a hobby, a passion that helps him to understand mechanical systems, which could be very helpful in Saudi Arabia. He has his own little workshop in Lucerne, and doesn’t rule out the idea of competing in cars in the future!
  • As a balance to the “hectic” motorsport, the Kirn native does a lot of ultra trail with his dog Jack in the Swiss alps to train endurance and perseverance. Two qualities that will be very useful in January.

طموح

D.M.: "I was not trained enough in 2025. Everybody told me how hard Dakar is. I thought it was the ‘normal’ exaggeration, but it was not. Dakar was testing my limits, even if I pushed my boundaries a lot during my life. It doesn’t matter which event I carry out, normally after 24 hours I am recovered. After Dakar it took me three weeks to be back to a normal shape. Every day felt like a summit day, it is just that you have 14 summit days! So I tried to train much better in 2025, which is always a balance as an amateur, you must manage your work and private life as well. Beside this I was too careful. I told myself to don`t crash and not take too much risk, I was riding much slower than normal. Moving to the end of the pack, two hours less sunlight every day and the cars catch you fast, which slows you down even more. I never got out of the spiral of long days adding up. I will try to find a good balance between speed and risk management in 2026. But also, to enjoy the event and try to have an eye for the amazing nature. As long as I can remember, I've always been super fascinated by the Dakar. I think it’s very important to have dreams and projects. There is this phrase energy flows, where attention goes. It keeps me happy and motivated. I had to focus during the learning phase for these big projects. First only on my mountain project, and since 2018 only on motorsport. As I have now a good training level, it might be possible to do these two passions in parallel in the future. I would love to go back to the high mountains next year. I have the south pole and Mount Vinson in mind for a long time.”
