RIDER FACTS
- Jie Yang is one of two talented Chinese bikers who will be representing Segway Racing as they make their Dakar debut in 2025. Like his teammate and fellow rookieJianhao Xu Mission 1000 class powered by alternative energies
- Jie got into motorsport thanks to his older brother. He discovered offroad motorcycle racing at the age of 9 and fell in love with it. After graduating from junior high school in 2006, he decided to pursue a professional career in motocross.
- The 34-year-old turned pro in 2008 and began participating in domestic and Asian National Cup events. He was Chinese motocross champion in 2012, the year which also saw him claim 5th place at the prestigious Taklimakan Rally. He also came 7th at the Asian motocross championship in 2011.
2025 AMBITIONS
J.Y.: “Mission 1000 is a new category that has emerged at the Dakar, posing a new challenge and presenting an opportunity for teams and manufacturers worldwide. For me, transitioning from circuit racing to rally-raid after my retirement is a new beginning and a big personal challenge. I'm lucky to be representing Segway at Dakar 2025. Participating in the Dakar is one of my life dreams. I will do my best to complete the rally and achieve my personal goals. As this is my debut, I hope to gain experience, improve my rally skills, and strive for the best possible result. With my years of experience as a circuit racer, I'm ready and confident I can complete every stage of the Dakar. I'm aiming for victory in Mission 1000.”
