Roman Krejci made a long-awaited comeback at Dakar 2020, taking part in the world's biggest rally for the first time in a decade. Along with his friend and Ivar CS teammate Jan Vesely, he signed up for the Original by Motul class, which the Czech duo had already completed together on their debut in 2010. Sadly, Roman was unable to join Jan on the finishers' podium in Saudi Arabia, crashing out on Stage 6 with a dislocated shoulder. The 44-year-old had been enjoying a fine start to the rally, and was in contention for a podium place in the Originals class. He therefore has unfinished business with the Dakar, and returns in 2021 under his own steam, with the support of his concrete production business Bo!beton. Jan is not participating this year, but Roman won't be the only Czech rider in Original by Motul, with Jantar Team duo David Pabiska and Rudolf Lhotsky also preparing for the most challenging kind of Dakar.
