“I would like to be close to the Top 30”
RIDER FACTS
- The next generation of Czech motorcyclists is on the move. Inspired by national performers such as Martin Michek and Jan Brabec, several riders from this Central European country are following in their footsteps. Martin Prokes is definitely one of them.
- The Ostrava rider no stranger to the dirt and dust, as his life turns around motorbikes and… his farm. Martin is good in driving tractors and combine harvesters, but also when he’s on 2-wheels. He started at the age of 7, initiated by his father who was a motocross lover. Since then, he has risen through the ranks to establish himself as one of the best riders of his country.
- The farmer won some Czech Republic enduro titles in his career, and finally did his first Dakar in 2024. He was one of the youngest competitors of the bikes race (25 years old), but also one of the fastest rookies! Martin ended close to the Top 40 and is now looking to the Top 30, even if he knows that he still has a lot to learn in this sport.
2025 AMBITION
M.P.: “Dakar was something completely new for me in 2024. It was my long-term dream and a very big experience. The goal was to reach the finish line, which I did! I was very happy for that. I took a month off after Dakar, and the beginning of March was the start of the Cross Country Championship where I managed to defend my Czech Cross Country Championship title this year. I'm looking forward to Dakar 2025, I think we are well prepared. I would like to be close to the Top 30 this year, but I know it will be very difficult. The main task is still to reach the finish line.”
