“My passion for rally is increasing, and I find it fulfilling”
En resumen
- Racing lover thanks to his father, Dusan is one of the best riders the Czech Republic has produced in recent years. He is already a multiple Czech Republic motocross champion. In 2022, this fishing enthusiast won the national title in MX1, the premier category. A year earlier, he represented his country at the Motocross of Nations.
- The rider from Prague started motocross at 4 years old, but discovered rally-raid later in his life. He learned the basics during a training camp at the Viladoms Rally Station, in Spain. He did the 2023 Rallye du Maroc to qualify for the Dakar, coached by the experienced Milan Engel. He obtained his entry ticket despite a crash during the last special, where he broke his chest. He was 11th in Rally 2 before that accident, showing his skills.
- Dusan has been one of the Dakar 2024 fastest rookies. A tank problem during stage 6 put him out of the race, but he continued in Dakar Experience. The rest of the season was painful: he broke his shoulder in a big motocross crash and was out for six months.
- The 2025 edition did far more than confirm the potential of the tall (190 cm) rider. Not only did he obtain his first finisher's medal, but despite his lack of navigation experience, he climbed into the Top 20, 8th place in Rally2… and first of the eight Czech riders participating! He was with his own team at the time, and there was no reason to change a recipe that works so well in 2026!
Ambición
D.D.: “I started watching the Dakar when I was very young with my father, because he has been riding all his life. It was my dream, our dream, to do it. My first Dakar has been very challenging, but I tried to do my very best. The experience was priceless, and it definitely moved me forward. My main goal for Dakar 2025 was to finish the race. I managed do that that, and 17th place overall - best of the Czech riders- was a bonus. I would like to be around the Top 20 in 2026 but I don’t like to set goals for a race like Dakar; the most important thing is to get to the finish line. My passion for rally is still increasing, and I find it fulfilling. I would like to continue and do more races in the future.”
