Any competitor or crew registered in the race, forced to retire (except for medical reasons) will be able to benefit from a unique Joker for the entire rally, allowing him to resume one time the start once he has recovered and repaired his vehicle. The competitor will reinstate the race in a separate ranking, the “DAKAR EXPERIENCE”.
Some details on the « Dakar Experience”
- Competitors who are on the Elite List or on the Notoriety list cannot get the Joker.
- Only one Joke will be allowed on the entire rally. Any withdrawal after the activation of the Joker will be final.
- Any competitor who has been injured or evacuated by the medical service may claim reinstatement only with a positive approval from the medical service.
- A « Dakar Experience » competitor will be in the classification of the stage, but will not be any more in the overall classification.
- Competitor will be able to pass under a finish arch “Dakar Experience” but will not be able to pass on the podium Dakar reserved for the finishers.
