MOTOS | LUCIANO BENAVIDES WINS, HOWES LEADS THE RALLY AGAIN
This is the third time that the two HVA riders Luciano Benavides and Skyler Howes have achieved the feat! The Argentinean has won his 3rd special on the Dakar while his American team-mate has regained control of the general rankings, making it his 6th day on at the summit of the Dakar 2023. Daniel Sanders finishes with the second best time of the day, 1'38’’ behind the winner and Toby Price concludes the stage in 3rd, 1'56’’ behind. In the general rankings, Howes leads in front of the 2 KTM bikes. Toby Price is only 28’’ behind and Kevin Benavides trails by 2'44’’. The Hondas ridden by Pablo Quintanilla and AVB are some way off the podium, respectively 15 and 15 minutes behind.
QUADS | NUMBER 2 FOR MEDEIROS
Marcelo Medeiros has achieved the best time on the special in the quad race. The Brazilian has completed the stage more than 6 minutes ahead of Alexandre Giroud. Francisco Moreno Flores climbs onto the third step of the day’s podium, a little more than 2 minutes behind the title holder.
AUTOS | 4 IN A ROW FOR LOEB
Sébastien Loeb has finished with the best time, more than 2 minutes ahead of Guerlain Chicherit, who allows the Prodrive team to pick up a one-two finish today. It is the fifth victory for Loeb on this 45th edition of the Dakar and his fourth in a row. He is now within less than 10 minutes of Lucas Moraes, still in second position in the general rankings, but more than 1 hour and 21 minutes behind Nasser Al Attiyah.
LW PROTOTYPES | 1-2-3 FOR YAMAHA IN T3
After gaining its first victory in the SSV category with João Ferreira on stage 8, Yamaha has done even better today for the first part of the marathon stage by finishing in the first three places. C’est Ricardo Porem has won this time, ahead of Ferreira and Ignacio Casale. Only 22’’ separated the three X-Raid Yamaha team-mates.
SSV | BACIUŠKA WINS
Rokas Baciuška has finished the day’s special with the best time, thirty seconds ahead of Eryk Goczał. The Polish driver had seemed well set to make up ground in the general rankings, but the T4 world champion eventually tasted victory, holding on to his status of leader at the rally’s summit. A little more than 4 minutes now separate the two men on the evening of stage 11. Marek Goczał, thid today, keeps hold of his place on the third step of the provisional overall podium.
TRUCKS | MARTIN VAN DEN BRINK WINS
Martin Van Den Brink has won the day’s special. The Dutchman has taken advantage of the time lost by his rivals, starting with Janus Van Kasteren, to give his chances of the title a new boost. He is now only one minute behind his countryman in the general rankings. Martin Macík has achieved the second-best time has also regained some ground on Van Kasteren in the general rankings, in which he remains in third place, a little more than three quarters of an hour behind.
