Mathieu Serradori: “We’re back in the match and we will give it our all”

A stage winner in 2020, the privateer driver has confirmed that he is able to battle with the big teams by taking fourth place on the day’s special. Now he is aiming to climb back up the general rankings.

“It was a complicated stage because the bikes didn’t open the way before us so there was a job to be done. We managed to take advantage of the tracks of the cars in front and push hard at some points. What’s more, we only had one puncture even though we went through canyons, riverbeds, mountains and rocks. On the negative side, after the neutralised zone, I lost a bit of concentration and we hit a tree, so that means a bit more work than usual for my mechanics. Loïc was consistent with the navigation, even though it was stressful: we had to be capable of allowing ourselves time to find the right way. At some points, we were working on it together, especially when we made a bit of a big mistake with the navigation. Now, our goal is to get back into the top 10 because we’ve had a very complicated first few days. We’re back in the match and we will give it our all, you can be sure of that”.
