The KTM rider started the special in third place overall, but he would have lost it had Cornejo not withdrawn from the race.

"I made quite a few mistakes. A bit disappointing, but I'm just trying to do my best, as is everybody. The roadbook's super-difficult. I was in front of the group before and then, one moment, I couldn't find the way, and I just tried to follow the caps that were in the roadbook, but I was off-piste and hoping to find my way back to the right track, but [I] ended up doing some circles. The boys are doing a good job opening the stages and not losing too much time."
