The French rider followed up on yesterday's victory in the prologue by beating Chile's Giovanni Enrico for the stage win today.

"The quad race was rather war-like today… It was a great stage! We got down to business. It was hard at the beginning because I was opening the road, so I got caught. You can see the dust trail of a quad from miles away. We then played cat and mouse for a bit. I was first across the line, but someone could end up posting a faster time."
