Yazeed Al Rajhi: "We're ready to fight"

January 1 st 2026 - 20:03 [GMT + 3]

The winners of the previous edition, the Saudi and his navigator Timo Gottschalk, suffered a crash during a race held a few weeks later and had to stay on the sidelines until autumn. Their last two W2RC appearances were less than impressive, putting a question mark over the reigning champion and his title defence prospects. Not that Al Rajhi himself has any doubts.

"We won last year and, for sure, our goal is to win again. We've still got the pace. In Morocco, Timo and I agreed from the start that we just wanted to turn over a new leaf. We made no attempt to go on the attack in Portugal because we weren't at 100%. Now, we're ready to fight when the right time comes."
