Francisco López: “The most difficult stage of all the Dakar”

With a win on stage nine 33 minutes ahead of Austin Jones, who only managed to finish tenth on the loop around Neom, Francisco “Chaleco” López returned to the top of the general standings. The Chilean now leads the American by more than 12 minutes.

“It was very fast and there were no problems with my car. The navigation was very good. It was a difficult day. The tracks were very fast. It's very difficult for me. The special was the most difficult stage of all the Dakar. There were lots of tracks and rocks, but on every special there’s been no problem thanks to good navigation from my co-pilot. I’m very happy, it was good work”.
