Mathieu Serradori: “We are trying to break into the top 5”

Mathieu Serradori was 13th today after a podium finish yesterday and remains 6th in the general rankings. The Frenchman lost ground on Mitch Guthrie, who is now a little more than 10 minutes ahead of the official Century.

“It was a stage that was a transition stage at the beginning but which became very tricky towards the end where it was important to find the right course. We had a little puncture and got stuck in some rocks, so we had our fair share of mishaps. That said, we’re happy to have got through it without damage to the care. We can’t wait to leave the grand canyons and fast wide plateaus with cliffs to the left and right to get our teeth into the Empty Quarter. We are trying to break into the top 5. We’re aiming for Guthrie’s official Ford in front of us and after that we’ll see”.
