Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari: “I overtook mostly all of the T3s in front of me”

Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari almost grabbed his first victory at the finish in Haradh. The Nasser Racing team’s Qatari driver, who is taking part in his first Dakar, eventually came second to Argentinean David Zille by just 11 seconds.

“I think it was a very good stage. I was going very, very fast and overtook mostly all of the T3s in front of me. There were a few points that were very complicated but I think it was very difficult for everyone. It was really difficult to find two or three way points. On the last one, for example, we didn’t know where we were. We saw a lot of cars and fans, so we went towards them and it was correct. But we lost a lot of time, though we are happy regardless of the time that we lost. It was a very good stage and I’m very happy with the car, with my co-pilot – he did a very good job. Their job is not easy. They can pay me whatever they want, I will never be a co-pilot”.
