Edgar Canet: “I’m not looking at the classification”

Edgar Canet won the day’s stage in the Rally 2 class and finished 8th in the overall bike category. The new official KTM rider is still 8th in the general rankings, which for the moment is better than Mason Klein in 2022, when he finished 9th, the best performance of a Rally 2 rider in the year the class was created. Toby Price holds the record for the best debut result on a Dakar, with 3rd place in 2015.

“It was a good stage for me, with 300 km that were super fast but then the last 55 km required a lot of navigation, with a lot of tracks on the ground and a lot of difficult points to find. I got lost a little bit there, but I’m happy with the result. I’m keeping my focus on the stage tomorrow when we arrive in the dunes of the Empty Quarter. My goal, my objective is just to finish so I’m not looking at the classification”.
