Ricky Brabec: “I think the race will be over after stage 10”

The title holder, who appeared resigned on completion of the special, should finish 4th on the stage. Brabec remains half an hour behind the leader and is already predicting the overall outcome of the rally.

“Today was one of those days where I could have made a big push in the overall rankings, so we’ll see what happens but at the end of the day, I know one of my team-mates crashed. Another one had to stop but I’m sure he’ll get some time back. I’m here, at the finish with a few stages left to go, so it’s a positive note and I get to ride dirt bakes, so, yeah, it’s good. I think the race will be over after stage 10. Once people do what they’re going to do on stage 10, that will decide who’s going to win. On the Dakar, the last day is for nothing and stage 11 is a big dune day, so whatever happens on stage 10 is going to decide the winner. But I’m here, happy, healthy and ready to go”.
