January 7 th 2023 - 14:30 [GMT + 3]

Yazeed Al Rajhi started in 40th place, near the back of the field, after running into mechanical trouble yesterday. The Saudi picked up his third career Dakar stage win, the first one in this edition, but he remains over five hours behind the overall leader. The stage win restored his honour and netted him some W2RC points. Al Rajhi came in third in the 2022 W2RC.

"We attacked. There was some navigation, but I'd say I've got the best co-driver! It wasn't easy to start from the back and overtake all the little cars, often going left and right in the wadis, but we did a great job. I'm not worried about the two hours for my crew to service the car before the parc fermé. They need an hour and a half, so they've got a margin of thirty minutes."
