The South African is back on the provisional podium after finishing second on the day.

"Today was more difficult than I thought, especially the first 120 kilometres in the camel grass, the sand was incredibly soft. It just shows you that anything can happen and that you have to stay focused. We have seven days to go, and today it was also important to look after the car because it's a marathon stage. If something goes wrong, you can lose a lot of time."
