Sébastien Loeb finished second on the day’s stage, 2'58’’ behind Nasser Al Attiyah, securing Dacia's first one-two finish on the Dakar Rally. This is the Frenchman's best performance since stage 12 in 2024, which he won. In the overall rankings, the Frenchman is sixth, 17'36’’ behind the leader.
“We really enjoyed ourselves today. I had forgotten how fast you can go in the dunes with these cars, it's really incredible. We got knocked around and lost a few centimetres today, because when you attack hard in the dunes, you get shaken about quite a bit. Unfortunately, we had a problem with a tyre at one point and had to change a wheel, but otherwise it was a great day. The main thing is to stay in the pack. Everyone is driving very fast in the dunes, so it's difficult to pull away”.
