The Czech driver won his second stage this year on the rally’s arrival in Riyadh to take his total to 20 since 2007. He is now 3rd in the overall rankings, 46'10’’ behind leader Mitch van den Brink and 11 minutes behind from two times title holder Martin Macik.
“It was a nice stage, I like the sand. We’ve finally got to the nice sand so we tried to get as much as we could from this terrain. From halfway through the stage we led to the finish, increasing the gap, so it was nice. I’m happy that our ‘Red Dragon’ is back in the game. The first week was really tough. We had a lot of technical trouble which put us down the rankings but we are going to get the time back in the second half of the rally”.
