Martin Macik has won for the second time in a row in the truck category. The Czech driver finished ahead of Kay Huzink by 4'18’’ and has retained the overall rankings lead that he secured yesterday, ahead of Mitchel Van Den Brink by 9'29’’. The man in the yellow truck could now be on course for a hat-trick.
“We were fighting the whole stage with Mitchel Van Den Brink, he was doing really well but in the last stony section I don’t know what happened. He was really slow so I overtook him and we sped to the finishing line. We were at 135 kmph, our maximum speed, the whole day long. There were also many limited speed zones, at 30, 50 and 90 kmph as well, which was kind of a bother as well, especially at the end, with tricky navigation also. It was a great marathon stage. We did great, I’m satisfied with the truck and everything is working well, which is important because everybody had problems”.
