Daniel Sanders, yesterday's winner and this morning's leader, conceded only 3'28’’ to Tosha Schareina today, thanks in particular to 6'29’’ of bonuses for his work in opening the way. The Australian still leads in the general rankings by 1'07’’ in front of Ricky Brabec on the eve of the first week’s marathon stage.
“Hopefully, I’m not right up the front tomorrow. I wouldn’t mind starting back a little bit so I don’t have to open. I’ve opened a lot of the stages in almost two complete days. That’s a lot of kilometres opening but I’m feeling really good. It was really tough navigation. I was really happy with how I rode today. Hopefully I didn’t lose too much time”.
