Bradley Cox battled for stage victory with Lorenzo Santolino before receiving a 6-minute penalty at the finishing line. The South African knows where he lost out on what could have been his first stage win but is not letting it get him down and is already looking ahead to the marathon stage that starts tomorrow.
“I was a little bit on the wrong course coming out of the river, but it was a good stage. Nevertheless, I’m pretty happy with today, especially after a tough first three days. I’m happy and now it’s onwards to the marathon. I kind of knew when I made the mistake in the river that I’d thrown the stage away, so that’s a learning experience. It was a good day, though, I’m really happy. Now let’s see what David throws at us, it’s been crazy the first few days”.
