Toni Mulec shared the day on the tracks with his BAS World KTM team-mate Michael Docherty. The South African won his eighth stage in the Rally 2 class ahead of the Slovenian (who finished 1'50’’ behind), who has consolidated his position in the overall rankings in front of official Honda rider Preston Campbell (6'12’’ behind). On the eve of the finish, Toni is 9th overall in the bike category and the leading privateer rider.
“I tried to push but at the same time I tried to be careful and not make any stupid mistakes. There were so many stones again. Michael [Docherty] caught me and I tried to follow him as long as possible. […] He helped me get through the dunes, he’s so fast – it’s unbelievable. […] It was a very demanding day, very hard for me mentally and physically. I’m super happy to have rode the stage today together with Mike, thanks to him and everybody supporting me. […] I will cross my fingers to get something in the end”.
