Gonçalo Guerreiro: “I’m a rookie, but I know how hard the races are”

Gonçalo Guerreiro helped to ensure a one-two finish for the trialling and training section of the Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team by finishing 4’’ behind Corbin Leaverton.

“It’s crazy, you know, the young generation is looking very good. A one-two for Red Bull is really good and I think we did a good prologue. We had to overtake a car, but we only lost two or three seconds. I’m happy with the prologue. Now we have a long race ahead of us, so we have to be smart. Pablo Moreno won on the last edition of the Dakar in the Challenger class. He is a good friend of mine and my family, so he came here to tell me to take it easy because it’s a long race, so we have to be smart. I know this, I’m a rookie, but I know how hard the races are. I will push, but I won’t compromise finishing the Dakar”.
