RIDER FACTS

  • Jaromir Romancik is a national champion and world-class rider in enduro. He led the Czech Republic squad to third place on the ISDE podium in 2016, and 5th place in 2024. The rider from Liberec has also represented his country at the Motocross of Nations. Let’s say that he knows how to be fast on a bike!
  • He discovered rally-raid and navigation during the 2023 Rallye du Maroc, achieving a very good result (7th in Rally 2). But his first Dakar didn't go so well: he couldn't finish due to technical problems. So, he's back in 2025, hoping to go all the way until Shubaytah.
  • Although Jaromir had to retire at the end of the first week, he stayed on at the bivouac to help his team as a mechanic for another rider. A gesture that shows his greatness, but also his passion for motorbikes and his desire to learn! It will be a useful experience for this year, as he will compete in the Original by Motul category.

2025 AMBITION

J.R.: “I got a call to take part in the Dakar about ten years ago, and then again 4-5 years ago. But at the time, I didn’t feel mentally strong enough for this race, so I watched it from home. I decided to go in 2024. Although I wasn't able to finish, it was nice to see the bivouac, all the big teams and riders... I do enduro and motocross and it's completely different. Here you have to be fast, but the most difficult part is the navigation. Sometimes you have to choose between going fast and reading the road book. It's a different sport and I really enjoy it. Being my teammate’s mechanic for a week was also a good experience. This time, I want to cross the finish line. I'll be in malle-moto so it's going to be a bit different, but I like working on my bike and organising everything myself. I'll be sleeping in the tent next to my bike. It's going to be tough, I think it's the hardest way to do the race, but I'm going to give it my all to finish.”
