Alberto Bertoldi started to ride when he was 8 years old, but his family was not really supporting his passion, so he had to wait be 16 years old to start competing in the Italian Roadracing Championship CIV in the sport production category with a Cagiva Mito 2 stroke. In 1999 he opened his bike workshop BMS Moto, a dealer of several brands like Ducati, Scherco and Beta Motor. Passionate about desert, he started to discover Morocco, Mali and Algeria on some raid tours with friends. In 2004-2005 he was in Morocco and he could assist to some stages of the Dakar and it was love at first sight. In 2013 he was in Tucuman for the rest day of the Dakar and this year he is finally at the start.
“Finally the dream I had since I was a kid, comes true. I started as road racing rider, but then switched to off road because I’m a passionate about desert. I assisted to some sages of the Dakar as a spectator when it was in Africa and in South America. Since 2014 I have regularly competed in several rallies like Transanatolia, Merzouga Rally and Panafrica and this is the best preparation to face the ultimate adventure. I expect a tough race and I am finishing the rally”.
