“I hope to perform to my full potential”
RIDER FACTS
- One of the most talented motocross riders in China, Jianhao Xu was "born into a family of offroad bike racers". His grandfather was a pioneer, part of the country's first generation of offroad racers, while his uncle was known as the ‘Flying King of China’ due to his prolific success in the national championship.
- Jianhao began racing motocross in 2001, at the age of 8, and was crowned national champion for 14 consecutive years between 2007-2020. In 2019, he represented China in the final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Shanghai, securing the country's best-ever result (16th). He has also participated in the Asian and European Championships.
- The 31-year-old is now preparing for his first experience of the Dakar, riding a fully electric Segway X1000 in the Mission 1000 category. This is also Segway Racing's debut at the world's biggest rally.
2025 AMBITIONS
J.X.: "I was exposed to racing from a young age and naturally developed a love for it. I will be competing for Segway Racing at Dakar 2025. Mission 1000 is a new challenge for the Dakar, and taking part will be a big personal challenge. It's a completely new discipline for me. It won't be an easy transition from motocross to rally-raid. The Dakar is a dream and a milestone for many riders. It's a close contest between machinery and nature, and a huge challenge for both the bike and the rider. I hope to perform to my full potential in my first Dakar and achieve a good result. I'm aiming for the victory in Mission 1000. I also hope to get the full experience of the Dakar in the future."
