“The dream came true”
After three unfortunate experiences on the Dakar, Abdullah Al Shatti finally managed to reach the finish line of the World toughest rally. His adventure on the Dakar actually started in 2019, far from his homeland of Kuwait when the rally was then staged in South America. Failing to finish, it would take him two other attempts this time in neighbouring Saudi Arabia to learn the techniques of off-road rallying, especially for a man who comes from motocross. Fourth time lucky, Al Shatti reached the finish in Dammam in a promising 56th position. Keen to once again proudly lift the Kuwaiti flag on the podium of the Dakar, the 38-year-old returns after once again competing in several rounds of the FIM Baja World Cup. Like last year, he will be riding a KTM prepared by his friends of the MX Ride Dubai.
“The dream came true, I finished the 2023 Dakar in the beloved Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was able to lift the Kuwait flag on the final podium. I’m delighted because it was also one of the hardest editions over 9448 km. I want to dedicate this performance to my country Kuwait and all the people who were at my side supporting me.”
