“When you live the Dakar once, it becomes part of your life. I started back in 2005 on a bike. Despite being busy with work, you always think about the Dakar. It’s in my system. Winning that stage, the toughest one of the Dakar, was magic. We’ve used all our experience from riding in the back of the field, when we made all the possible mistakes. By winning that stage, we accomplished something we never thought was possible. We’ve learned a lot from last year, and gained a lot of confidence. Over the year we’ve done a lot of testing with the Renault truck, that was brand new last year, and since has improved in every respect. I think we did a good job so far.”
