“Being in the Dakar last year was a dream come true, although it was a nightmare too at some points. They told me to beware of driving in the dunes at night. And of course that is exactly what happened: we ended up in the toughest dunes of the entire rally - the Fiambala dunes - in the dark. It almost meant the end of our adventure, but we finally made it. We’ve learned a lot and therefore we changed a lot of details. I learned for example that I have difficulties with high temperatures, so now my suit has cooling compartments. And the arms of my sun glasses were hurting when I have my helmet on, so now I have special sun glasses tailormade. Also for the truck we made a few changes, to make it easier when we have to help others that are stuck or to be helped easier when we get stuck.”
