“We are twin and we do everything together” 1

“For me the Dakar is: racing off road with my twin brother. It’s an incredible adventure to know new places, new people and new cultures. We are lucky because we have always shared this passion as a family, we are twin, we look alike and we do everything together. We also work together, we have three optic shops and this is our second passion together with off road. We will never forget the start of our first Dakar: Paris-Dakar back in 2001. We only spoke Italian so my girlfriend accompanied us to translate during the technical and administration checks. Everything went well and when we finally passed under the Triumph Arch we felt like Superstars! Everybody asked for a photo, an autograph. It was an amazing experience. We were not ready for a tough rally like the Dakar, but we made it till the Pink Lake. We cried for the joy! We thought that our life was fulfilled but we have been lucky. More Dakar rallies followed and now we have the great chance to discover South America. We don’t aim at great results. We have opted for a Toyota 155, because it is a reliable machine. We can count on the Jaton Racing Team that has also two trucks in the race to assist us. Our target is to finish and to enjoy this adventure. We know that it will be tough but not impossible so we are preparing more mentally than physically”.
