“To bring the PanDakar to the end in Buenos Aires”

“Since the Fiat Pandakar made his debut on the Dakar in 2008, this is the 4th attempt to finish the race. After the first one with Miki Biason and Saby, this is my third time. Last time we broke due to the tyres that didn’t fit. The Pandakar, in fact, respects the original size of a Panda Cross and the 16’ tyres for competition don’t fit. We were obliged to use the standard 15’ tyres, but this year we have finally found a good product with the BF Goodrich, always with 15’ tyres. We have also worked a lot on the suspensions. We take the start with the goal to do an intelligent race and arrive till the end in Buenos Aires. It’s an important project and it would be great to see the Italian brand FIAT shine in this race that represents the ultimate challenge. The Dakar is always a great adventure and my best memory is always the time spent in the cockpit with my co-driver Antonio Cabini. The effort we put is incredible, sometimes it happened that we don’t sleep for 65 consecutive hours. Every time we say that this is the last Dakar, but once we are in the plane on the way back, we already start planning the following participation”.
